I decided to create this group for activities and events as another way for autistic people to connect and interact. I think it will be easier for people to connect, if they have something in common to participate in together. So I’m hoping we can think of some fun ways to engage. In person or online.
Whether it’s a public event/activity, something you’d like to host, or something you’d like to attend, whatever you can think of to get together and interact with other autistic people – in person, online, or over Zoom.
You could post about a one time event that you’ve seen advertised and see if any other members would like to join you at the event or maybe you’d like to attend a weekly/monthly sports or group activity but you’re reluctant to go yourself, so you’d like to find someone else who’d also like to get involved.
Or maybe you’d like to create or start your own event or activity and you’re looking for others to participate. Like say you have a skill or artistic/crafting ability or play a sport or game or a musical instrument, and you’d like to teach others how to do it or participate in the activity with other people who share the same skill or hobby. You could do that in person or over Zoom. Or you could set up walking/hiking events, play games, meet for coffee, etc. In person, not over Zoom, lol
Or maybe you’d like to attend an event/activity like that if someone else hosted it. Why not make a suggestion and that might inspire someone else.
So those are a few suggestions from me. I hope other members will post whatever they can think of as an activity or event for autistic people to connect and engage with other autistic people.
