Research study invitation

Dear stakeholders,

We are researchers at Dalhousie University. We are conducting a research project investigating  adulthood and gaps in resources to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

We are inviting:

1- Individuals with ASD ( verbal, age > 25 years): We have already recruited several individuals, with priority given to adults with ASD over 50 years old to ensure their representation and gather diverse perspectives.

2- Parents of those with ASD (age > 25 years)

3- Clinicians working with individuals with ASD

Participation

Participation will require your involvement in an interview either face to face or over phone or via Teams, whichever is convenient for you, to share your ideas and perspectives. We will also ask you to answer some basic questions describing yourself through a confidential online survey platform or filling out paper-based demographic survey. By participating in this interview, you will be given a gift card (e.g., Amazon), valued at $30.

If you choose to participate in this study or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the research team at via email at resource@dal.ca.

Can you please share the attached poster and this information among your network and/or those who might be interested in attending the study?

Thank you very much!

So they sent me another message today repeating that "we are not able to complete the interview over email." and including the poster:

The poster mentions “gather diverse perspectives” and describes an opportunity to “share with us your perspectives on successful adulthoods and how we can support adults with ASD during this time.” Seems to me supporting autistic adults would include accommodating their communication preferences. But what do I know, I can’t say I’m experiencing successful adulthood.  🤔
