assessment on autism - engagement process
The Canadian Academy of Health Sciences is seeking input from Autistic people, families and supporters including service providers, educators and organizations.
This input is being gathered as part of an assessment on autism that is considering scientific information and also informed by this public engagement process. The assessment will help inform policy makers as they consider the development of a National Autism Strategy.
There are three ways to get involved in this public engagement process:
Individuals can take a survey or participate in discussion forums on the engagement hub until May 31
Community conversations on autism are taking place on Zoom until May 13
Written submission are being accepted from organizations until May 31
Please go to https://consultation-en.cahs-acss.ca/i-am-autistic to register and participate.

I received an update today on the Autism Assessment:
"Upcoming Release of the CAHS Autism Assessment Report / Parution prochaine du rapport d'évaluation de l'ACSS sur l’autisme
Good morning,
The Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) is pleased to announce the upcoming release of its assessment report on autism. CAHS will release its report on May 10th 2022, following a comprehensive review of available evidence, best practices, policies and an extensive consultation process.
To accompany the release, we plan to share with you the communication tools that were developed and are meant to ensure better accessibility for our report to the broadest audience possible. The following tools will be made available to all stakeholders and to the public across Canada:
An easy read document,
The stakeholder engagement report, and
A summary report.
We would like to thank all the stakeholders that informed our work through their participation in our consultations, the panel and working group members that for the last 19 months provided their leadership, and all others that participated in this effort.
We look forward to re-engaging with you once the report has been released (May 10). We plan to hold two sessions to further inform stakeholders once the report has been released. We will keep you informed closer to the date of the release.
Yours truly,
Serge Buy

I don't know about you but I'm really nervous to see what they've come up with. I know many autistic people, myself included, tried very hard to give them the information they needed as they didn't have nearly enough autistic people in their working group. Here's hoping they got it right.
I'll post the reports when I get them.
