Getting the word out

Just wanted to mention our group is now posted to the mental health resource directory for eMentalHealth.ca Prince Edward Island. linked here

We are also now listed in the Support Group section of the PEI division of Canadian Mental Health Association's website. CMHA also got us listed in the Guardian newspaper in their listing of support groups. They will update that listing for us once we decide on regular meetings.

Just mentioning PEI Autistic Adults on Facebook's 'ASK PEI' when I was looking for a meeting room got us more members so I think there are lots of people who would like to join us if they knew we existed. I'd really like to get something in front of the 'general public' if anyone has any ideas of how to do that.

I'm still trying to get something on CBC PEI online but they would like to do an interview and have not yet agreed to do something via email. I have also contacted the Eastern Graphic, West Prince Graphic, and the Guardian for the same thing. If anyone has suggestions on how we can become more newsworthy please share in the comments.

Thank you for inspiring me. I was 'defeated' by my inability to do a phone interview and wouldn't have pursued it but your emails in July inspired me. In fact in my first email to CBC I quoted you ""While emailing with another member about that she said "I think it would be a powerful NT teaching moment if we expressed that while we want//need to communicate about this website, that in order to honour our neurodivergence and find pathways into sharing this info, we need a different approach than something so nerve wracking as a phone interview. I think it should be made into a written article only on CBC online etc and not on the radio as it is just so hard to talk on the radio." I agree with her and she said it better than I could.""

So right back at ya and way to go you!
