Loop Earplugs
It was great to meet you all @Luisa @Jill and Katherine. I posted this to FB but posting here as well.
We talked about Loop earplugs at the meeting and I figured I would post a brief review since a few of you seemed interested in them. (The grey lump in the pictures is just a macrame thing I made since the case is small and easy to lose)
The earplugs that I have aren’t noise cancelling; they dampen sounds and make background noise easier to ignore.
Unexpected/high pitched sounds don’t put me on edge as much as they normally do.
Reducing sensory input generally makes life a bit less mentally draining. The difference isn’t remarkable, but I find that small improvements are better than none.
Some things to consider:
You might hear your heartbeat/other internal processes if you wear earplugs in an area that is already quiet(ish).
They fit just like earbuds. I would look for something else if you don’t like the feeling of typical ‘jelly’ earbuds.

Wow, resourceful too!
